Honorees
Each January, Valor and
Meritorious candidate recommendations are presented to The 200 Club of
Morris County by the following:
President of the Morris County Police Chiefs Association
Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police
President of the Morris County Fire Chiefs Association
Coordinator of the Morris County First Aid Squads.
Nominations must be submitted through the appropriate channels within each public safety agency. The 200 Club of Morris County only accepts nominations from the representatives listed above.
An act of Valor is defined as an extraordinary event in which a person puts his or her own safety aside. It is an act of courage which goes above and beyond the call of duty. Very often, one's life is at risk in the process.
The Meritorious Award is a second level of recognition which differs from Valor in that the honoree has performed an extraordinary act, but their action has not necessarily placed their well being or life at risk.
Honorees are joined by The 200 Club of Morris County members, family, friends, and members of the business community at an annual black tie gala in April every year.
